Vision on innovations without laboratory animals in the neurosciences

A KNAW committee led by Prof. Wiebe Bijker is working on a long-term vision on innovations without laboratory animals in the neurosciences. Its focus is on the options that are available for animal-free research into the central nervous system. Each type of research helps to answer a different question.

In the summer of 2018, the committee conducted talks with various experts in the field of animal-free testing. It is expected to deliver its long-term vision in the Spring of 2019.

The principal driver of this project is the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
